STREET ART
Street art gives you the chance to be creative with words, images, text and colour, creating images free hand or using stencils like Banksy.
Stencil Graffiti
Stencils make use of paper, cardboard, or other media to create an image or text that is easily reproducible. The desired design is cut out of the selected medium and then the image is transferred to a surface through the use of spray paint or roll-on paint. Sometimes multiple layers of stencils are used on the same image to add colours or create the illusion of depth.
Stencils can be applied to t-shirts or canvases. Before your event we will discuss key messages, slogans etc. that we will use to create bespoke stencils for your event. On the day, participants will use these and a variety of other stencils and techniques to create individual images or a group image. Teams can also be given a theme or design brief that they must work to.
Graffiti and Wall Murals
Creating unique masterpieces is the aim of all graffiti artists; our session aims to give participants the chance to experience this thrill. Pieces can be produced to any size from one 8 x 4 foot (2.4 x 1.2m) plywood board to any number of boards joined together, which can then be wall mounted. Pieces can also be painted directly onto walls, building’s shutters etc.
This activity is extremely flexible and can take different forms, which version you choose depends on your expected outcomes. Make it a team building activity by having colleagues work as a team and give them a brief for what the message in their image should be. Alternatively, give participants free reign over what they create for an inspiring and relaxing session.
Whichever way you choose, however, it is a truly innovative form of expression that will get the creative juices of all participants flowing!
