Our experienced musicians will get all children involved in making + composing music, drawing
Using examples from their own practice and nurture the talents of budding young musicians. Music lessons may feed into a whole school performance, which our practitioner can contribute to. Music lessons deliver all the attainment targets of the Music programme of study:
Key Stage 1
Pupils will be able to:
- use their voices expressively and creatively by singing songs and speaking chants and rhymes
- play tuned and untuned instruments musically listen with concentration and understanding to a range of high-quality live and recorded music
- experiment with, create, select and combine sounds using the inter-related dimensions of music
Key Stage 2
Pupils will be able to:
- play and perform in solo and ensemble contexts, using their voices and playing musical instruments with increasing accuracy, fluency, control and expression
- improvise and compose music for a range of purposes using the inter-related dimensions of music
- listen with attention to detail and recall sounds with increasing aural memory use and understand staff and other musical notations
- appreciate and understand a wide range of high-quality live and recorded music drawn from different traditions and from great composers and musicians
- develop an understanding of the history of music
Music lessons will bring out the creativity in children and inspire them to develop a love of music.
Our practitioners will focus on improving children’s self-confidence and differentiate lessons to support children with special educational needs and extend gifted musicians so that all pupils make progress and feel a sense of achievement. We will provide schools with assessment information about children’s progress during PPA cover lessons and how well they have met or exceeded expected outcomes.
