ART
Our experienced visual artists will bring art lessons to life
Using examples from their own practice and nurture the talents of budding young artists. The work children produce may be part of a larger whole school project, which our practitioner can contribute to.
Art lessons deliver all the attainment targets of the Art programme of study:
Key Stage 1
Pupils will be able to:
- use a range of materials creatively to design and make products
- use drawing, painting and sculpture to develop and share their ideas, experiences and imagination
- develop a wide range of art and design techniques in using colour, pattern, texture, line, shape, form and space
- describe the differences and similarities between the work of a range of artists, craft makers and designers and make links to their own work
Key Stage 2
Pupils will be able to:
- develop their techniques, including their control and their use of materials, with creativity, experimentation and an increasing awareness of different kinds of art, craft and design
- create sketch books to record their observations and use them to review and revisit ideas
- improve their mastery of art and design techniques, including drawing, painting and sculpture with a range of materials
- make links between their own work and that of great artists, architects and designers in history
Art lessons will inspire children to participate and encourage them to be creative and express themselves. Our practitioners will differentiate lessons to support children with special educational needs and extend gifted artists so that all pupils make progress and feel a sense of achievement. We will provide schools with assessment information about children’s progress during PPA cover lessons and how well they have met or exceeded expected outcomes.
